• oncological diseases;
• diabetes mellitus.

Relative contraindications are more numerous. A surgeon may perform the procedure if they are present, but the risk of complications increases. Examples of relative contraindications include the intake of anticoagulants or smoking in the pre-operative period.

Preparation for face lipofilling

A surgeon must be consulted before the procedure. The doctor examines the patient, assesses contraindications and the patient’s condition. Procedure description

Lipofilling is performed both under general and under local anesthesia. The choice is always up to the surgeon. At the first stage, puncture sites are outlined, photos are taken and antiseptic preparation is performed. Then the surgery itself begins:The surgeon makes a puncture 2-4 mm in diameter at the point from which fat is collected. A typical site for these purposes is the front of the stomach, saddlebags, buttocks or the back. The fatty tissue is sucked out into a special reservoir. The puncture site is then sutured.The patient’s fat is processed. It is filtered, centrifuged and transferred to another vessel. A platelet concentrate is added for the fatty tissue to take better.The grafting of fat onto the face skin. The fatty tissue is introduced under the skin. It smooths out wrinkles, fills the hollows and contributes to face rejuvenation.The operation is over. If general anesthesia was used, the patient is awoken and taken to the in-patient department.

Procedure duration

Lipofilling lasts for 30-90 minutes. The procedure duration depends on the number of anatomic zones to be operated on.

Rehabilitation period: limitations and care

Rehabilitation after lipofilling is smooth and uncomplicated in most people. Following 1-2 days at the in-patient department the patient is discharged. Work can be resumed after 2 weeks.During the first 7 days after the surgery there may be swelling, itching and pain around the fat collection and introduction sites. In order to speed up the healing process and prevent complications, it is advised to observe the following recommendations:

1. Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol. Both bad habits stimulate fat decomposition in the grafting site.
2. Avoid sunbathing. Ultraviolet radiation slows down healing.
3. Do not exercise.
4. Apply healing creams on the face according to the doctor’s prescriptions.
5. Reduce mechanical impact on the operation site.
6. Do not apply make-up.

If inflammation and pain in the operation site persist or get worse, immediately consult the doctor. He will examine you and prescribe proper treatment.

Effects

The effect of lipofilling can be appreciated immediately after the correction procedure. The final result is visible after 2 months.
